"No one shines brighter by taking the light of others."

I'm sitting here overcome with the motherly need to protect the brand and image I've created for myself over the last six years.

It has been brought to my attention that there is a local to me maker who has made the decision to also create memorial keepsakes.

I believe that there is room for everyone at the table, and to that I say "Welcome". This job has left me speechless and humbled a number of times. The opportunity to be trusted by someone with something so intimate and beautiful is truly a rewarding experience and I hope they're ready for that.

What I would also like to address is the appearance that, word for word, content on my website has been copied and pasted to theirs. I do not own these words in this particular order, but it does make us both look a little silly if a potential client shops around prior to purchasing.

I've been the newcomer...I get it. It's tough. But I wouldn't ever consider taking someone else's hard work, words or otherwise, and pretend it's my own.

This journey I'm on, this path...I have trudged myself. I had to get on my hands and knees and get dirty. I've fallen down and had to get back up on my own. I've made mistakes and learned from them.

At the end of the day, I hope they find their own way, and I genuinely wish them all the best. But no one shines brighter by taking the light of others. We all must learn to ignite the fires within ourselves.
